Lamivudine + Zidovudine + Nevirapine 300 mg

Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N) belongs to a class of anti-HIV drugs called Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NRTIs).
The active ingredients, Lamivudine and Zidovudine (and Nevirapine, the additional ingredient in Duovir N), inhibit the reproduction of HIV in the body. They are used together to treat HIV which causes AIDS.

Dosage & Administration:
Take Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N) exactly as directed by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Duovir / Duovir N can be taken with or without food.
Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N) is usually taken twice a day. You should follow your doctor's instructions.

Side Effects:

• difficulty breathing
• closing of the throat
• swelling of the lips, tongue or face
• hives
• muscle pain or weakness
• nerve damage
• numbness
• tingling
• mild nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• decreased appetite
• headache
• dizziness
• insomnia
• redistribution of body fat

Precautions:
Serious blood problems including low levels of red and/or white blood cells have occurred with the use of Duovir / Duovir N. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop unusual fatigue, pale skin, sore throat, fever, or chills which may be signs of blood problems. Lactic acidosis and severe liver problems, including fatal cases, have been reported with the use of Duovir / Duovir N, alone or in combination.

Avoid alcohol while taking Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N). Alcohol may increase the risk of damage to the pancreas and/or liver. Follow your doctor's instructions with respect to high-risk activities such as unprotected sex and the sharing of needles. Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N) is not a cure for HIV or AIDS, and you can still transmit the virus to others during therapy with Lamivudine/Zidovudine/Nevirapine (Duovir N).
