Brand Emetil 25 mg

Emetil is indicated for the treatment of several mental and mood disorders. It is also indicated as the treatment of nausea, uncontrollable hiccups.

Dosage and administration:
The dosage and administration is depended upon the medical conditions of the patients. However it is recommended to take two to four times a day. It comes in the form of tablets, extended release capsules, oral liquid and rectal suppositories. It may be taken before and after the meals. You should follow the instruction given by you for your best result.

Contraindication:
It is contraindicated in patients who have known hypersensitivity to this product and its components, preexisting CNS depression, coma, bone marrow suppression, phaechromocytoma. It is also suggested if you are breast-feeding woman, or pregnant or plan to become pregnant in order to prevent from adverse serious effects.

Interaction:
It is interacted with antiparkinson agents and TCAs and it may lead to an anticholinergic crisis. Also it is interacted when administered in combination with MAOIs. In addition, it is reported to be interacted with sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, general anaesthetics, opiates and alcohol.

Side effects:
There are many serious and mild side effects of this medication if it is not suited on your body or if you over take of this drug. The common side effects which you can experience are dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, mydriasis, agitation, insomnia, depression and convulsions; postural hypotension, ECG changes allergic skin reaction, amenorrhoea, gynaecomastia, weight gain, hyperglycemia and raised serum cholesterol.
