Apcalis SX is an effective drug for treatment of erectile dysfunction. Apcalis SX contains Tadalafil as an active substance which is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5). When sexual stimulation causes local release of nitric oxide, inhibition of PDE 5 by Apcalis SX increases levels of cGMP in the cavernous body of penis. Thus arterial smooth muscles relax and blood flows to the tissues of the penis that causes erections. Apcalis SX improves erection and lets achieve a successful sexual intercourse. The drug has been clinically proven to work up to 36 hours.

Dosage and direction:
This drug is sold without a prescription but you should not use it without consulting your doctor first. After Apcalis SX is taken, the effect can be reached within 30 minutes - 1 hour period and persists up tot 36 hours. Apcalis SX is available in 20 mg. The recommended dose is no more then one pill of 20 mg per day.

Precautions:
Avoid drinking grapefruit juice, alcoholic beverages, use tobacco if you are taking Apcalis SX. Tobacco in combination with Apcalis SX may cause a condition called NAION (sudden optic nerve-related vision loss). Inform your doctor before to take Apcalis SX if you have abnormal penis, including curved penis and birth defects of the penis, had coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, angina, heart attack or heart failure, hypo- or hypertension, bleeding, stomach ulcers, diabetes, hyperlipidemia (excess of lipids in the blood), sickle-cell anemia, liver or kidney failure in history.

Contraindications:
Apcalis SX is not allowed to use in patients who are using any form of organic nitrate, either regularly and/ or intermittently as it is able to potentiate hypotensive effect of nitrates.

Side effect:
Most usual side effects of Apcalis SX are facial flushing (reddening), headaches, stomach upset, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms and nausea. In more rare cases low blood pressure, blurred vision and changes in color vision, and abnormal ejaculation may occur. Prolonged erections or priapism (painful erections lasting more than 6 hours) are also possible. If your erection is longer than 4 hours, seek for immediate medical help as it may permanently damage your penis. Aggravation of heart problems in patients with pre-existing heart disease using Apcalis SX was reported.

Overdose:
Aggravation of side effects could be symptoms of overdose. Seek for immediate medical help if you by your opinion you took too much of this medication.
