      Norvasc (Amlodipine) is a calcium channel blocker used to control high blood pressure or angina (chest pain). Reducing high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.

      Therapeutic actions: Norvasc tablets contain the active ingredient amlodipine besilate. It works by blocking calcium channels in muscle cells of blood vessels. Norvasc acts on the muscle cells in the walls of arteries, causing them to relax and allowing them to widen. It makes easier for the heart to pump blood and reduce its workload.

      Indications: Norvasc is used to treat:
      • High blood pressure (hypertension)
      • A severe form of angina pectoris, not caused by exertion (Prinzmetal's angina)
      • Angina pectoris
